As the main raw material of neodymium magnet is very cheap, the storage capacity of neodymium is 10 to 16 times higher than that of samarium, so the neodymium magnet’s price is much lower than that of samarium magnet.
Nd-Fe-B magnet has better mechanical performance than samarium cobalt magnet and aluminum nickel cobalt magnet. It is easier to cut and drill holes and to process complex shapes.
The disadvantage of Nd-Fe-B magnet is its poor temperature performance. Magnetism will lose a lot in high temperature. The highest working temperature is low. It is generally about 80 degrees Celsius. For the specially treated magnet, the highest working temperature can be up to 200 degrees Celsius.
